You asked for it! You've got it! Lovely recyclable tins poured full of the finest, purest, most beautiful, amber-colored certified organic Australian lanolin in the world! You'll notice a few things different about this new lanolin if you've tried the "old" stuff. It is darker in colour, because harsh detergents, bleaches, and deodorisers don't come anywhere near it! The gentle processing leaves a higher water and higher oil content in the lanolin than you'll find in commercial anhydrous lanolin. The lanolin is very smooth and silky, and spreads easily. You may also notice a very thin foamy layer at the top of your lanolin, especially with unscented lanolin. This is again due to the higher water and oil content of the lanolin. Waxier lanolin is just too dense to form bubbles! (scented tins are poured to volume, cooled, and scented to order, when the second heating and the stirring of the fragrance eliminates most of these bubbles)
Great for breastfeeding nipples (unscented only!), dry skin, cracked heels and elbows, baby bums, and of course, lanolizing your precious wool!
When your wool needs to be lanolised, simply scoop out a pea-sized dollop of the balm or lanolin and spread it over your palms. Gently pat it into the inside of your dry wool and repeat on the outside of the cover or soaker. DONE! If you prefer wet-lanolising, melt a pea-sized dollop of the balm in hot water and add it to a sink-full of luke-warm water. Let the wool soak in the water as long as it is warm. Let the water drain through the wool when you empty the sink, rather than just allowing the lanolin to be sucked down the drain.
Store upright in a cool, dry place with the lid on.
